TESTIMONIALS

I, Vasudeo P Nair, was referred to Dr. Aaditya Kashikar on May 2018 by my GP for chronic back pain. Dr. Kashikar took time in understanding my problems and explained the probable causes based on analysing my MRI report. He recommended to go under biopsy of spine to investigate for any form of inspection and to rule out any cancerous growth. For this I was admitted to Umrao Hospital, this biopsy, he did himself along with another Dr. He did it so well without any problem as I am a heart patient. Once the results were out it was confirmed as bone TB,he worked on future course of treatment with my chest Specialist. He called for regular Regular follow up. I am almost completely recovered. His approach to the patients is so nice, one feels as if you knew him earlier. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kashikar for anyone in need of a Spine Specialist. He is a rare combination of in depth experience, skill and humility.

Mr. Vasudeo P Nair (May 2018) TB Spine

I was suffering from chronic slipped disc problem for the last six years and went through various types of treatment (allopathic & McKenzie). However, my problem kept resurfacing every now & then without any relief from pain.

I happened to meet Dr Kashikar when I was admitted to Wockhardt Hospital on 5th January 2018 when my pain aggravated, radiating to right thigh and knee and it was extremely difficult to sit, stand and walk. By 2nd week of January, my condition deteriorated drastically and I started experiencing excruciating pain and numbness on my right leg and hip areas. The MRI scan revealed that the cartridge in-between my L4-L5 discs had come out and it started pressing the nerve root resulting in acute pain, imbalance and numbness. Doctor advised immediate surgery as my condition was critical and he did not want to take any risk. Dr was kind enough to explain my condition to my husband, who was then abroad and also assured him about the surgery, as no other option was available. I was operated on the midnight of 16th January 2018 by Dr Kashikar who went beyond the time of his duty.

Me and my family are very grateful for the meticulous treatment provided by him. Dr was patient & caring throughout my medication process. He made me sit on the bed on the 2nd day after surgery & even helped me walk & climb steps by 3rd day. I am now able to do all routine chores at home and also walk for minimum one hour daily.

I find no words in my vocabulary to thank Dr Aaditya Kashikar & strongly recommend him and his team to all, who have spine related problem.

Thank you for the big and little things you did to heal me. You are deeply admired and appreciated.

Dr you came in the patient's room when we were mid-afternoon on the day of our arrival for the preliminary consultation to the patient. You transmitted us enormous comfort and tranquility because your skill and confidence in the approach and the questions were so great made to gather the answers that would help you in the final diagnosis, although it was evident that you already have knowledge of the outcome of the conversation.

The exams that began on the same day gave us the certainty that we were dealing with a professional and that the life of our son Yanick Fernandes was delivered in good hands. Against our predictions the operation to Scoliosis idiopathic to the patient destined to correction of the vertebral spine was scheduled for the morning of the second day after our arrival.

As per your recommendation at 10:30 a.m. on 12/14 the hospital team went to the room and took the patient to the operating room. About eight hours later, we glimpsed the presence of Dr Aaditya, when he saw us, smiled, giving us hope and calmly, although visibly tired, he assured us that the operation had been carried out successfully and that the Yanick was well with all movements perfectly especially locomotion, which, as previously reported, can be affected in small percentages and that it was in the process of recovery and that, within moments, it would be transferred to the intensive care unit for a better follow-up.

On the third day after the operation we witnessed a slight walk from Yanick in his presence that after 24 hours was returned to the ward. To emphasise that the doctor remained interested during all the phases. Emphasize also that you were dedicated to the patient an affectionate and with special attention, you always sought to find out about any anomaly including dermatology and for that purpose you immediately requested the presence of a specialist.

Before discharge from the hospital, you had a long conversation with the patient and his parents to inform them about the procedure and the recovery and it was once again evident our safety and tranquility in the explanations and answers to the raised questions that brought peace to the parents about the future condition of our child.

For this and all the reasons mentioned above and possibly some omitted for memory lapses because they were emotional moments from an emotional point of view, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to DR Aaditya and his outstanding team and extend thanks to the staff of the hospital since administrative part to the servant passing by the security guards.

May God grant many blessings to all.

Pt Yanick Fernandes (Mozambique) Scoliosis

I was experiencing a great deal of pain in my lower back, so I went to the Physiotherapist who advised me to see a doctor and request to have x-rays taken to find out what was going on. This was done in July of 2017. This showed that the spine had significant wear on the lower discs. In September 2017 further x-rays were taken as the pain was getting unbearable at times, and these showed a further dramatic decline in the lower back and I was advised by the Doctor to see a specialist without any further delay.

As I had already been to Wockhardt hospitals in India previously where I had had a knee replacement, I made contact again. After sending the required x-rays, test results and Doctor’s report, Dr. Kashikar of Wockhardt hospital in Mumbai responded with what he thought needed to be done with a quotation.

We arrived in Mumbai on 19/11/17, whereupon Mr. Kashikar, the Spinal Surgeon, ordered x-rays, MRI scans, CT scans, and numerous blood tests to be done.  After the results were received, Mr. Kashikar then had a meeting with myself and my wife to discuss what had to be done. Basically, my spine needed a decompression doing and basically cleaned out, but if he saw further problems and saw that the spine had to be pinned during the operation, he asked for permission to do so, the permission was given.

Mr. Kashikar performed the operation which took approx. 5 hours. He found that the spine was crumbling and that the nerve had already begun to tear. He sutured the nerve, decompressed the spine and inserted the rods and screws.

Three days after the operation Mr. Kashikar came and helped me to sit up, and the next day that had me walking with him with the assistance of the physiotherapist. After a week he helped me to walk up and down stairs. He was always there to assist when doing new milestones in the initial recovery period.

I am doing extremely well, and I am so thankful that I had had this successful operation done, as I do believe that within a few months I would have been a wheelchair case without it.

Dr. Aaditya Kashikar, the surgeon was always very conscientious and professional, and checked up on me daily. Even when I got back to Zimbabwe and after a few weeks contacted me to ask if all was well and whether I had any concerns. My wife and myself would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Aaditya Kashikar to people with spinal problems.

Mr. Lionel Finaughty (Zimbabwe) Lumbar Canal Stenosis

I had back pain and met Dr Kashikar at Workhardt hospital around 4 years back . Apart from thorough knowledge on his subject, I found his treatment approach very very practical . He makes patients very comfortable hence half of the problem gets solved immediately after meeting him. Best part about him is, he is not a fully commercial doctor . He will not write or prescribe unnecessary tests/ medications. I remember, once i had paid the consultation fee at hospital and after meeting he felt that i was alright and consultation was not required. He asked the workhardt management to return the consultation fees  to me. He is not only a doctor but also a very good human being with lot of emotions. I wish him all the best for all his future endeavours.
